US President Trump said that he took another coronavirus test on Thursday, a new one that can produce the results in less than 15 minutes. Afterwards, he declared that people should wear masks when going outside to slow down spread.

Although he claimed that the result came back negative for a second time, he is asking for people to use masks even though that was not the case before. During a coronavirus response briefing, Trump said:
“I think I took it really out of curiosity to see how quickly it worked,” said Trump. "If people want to wear them, they can". The US President tested negative last month after coming into contact with a Brazilian politician who was positive later on.

The new test Trump took gave back results in just 15 minutes, which was released by Abbott Laboratories. Although Trump is encouraging people to wear masks to stop coronavirus spread, he doesn't agree with some US prisons letting low-risk prisoners go to prevent COVID-19 contagion.
Prisons are very vulnerable to community spread so some non-violent prisoners are being let go
Trump said: “If I have the right to stop it in some cases. Some people are getting out that are very serious criminals in some states, and I don’t like that. I don’t like it."
Also, Trump is declaring that the US army is operating in the city of New York, to help put up a makeshift hospital in the Javits convention center in the city. The new makeshift hospital actually doesn't treat coronavirus patients, so that actual COVID patients can get proper treatment without affecting others.

As previously reported, New York is the epicenter of the disease in the US with 57,000 cases alone. The whole state has over 100,000 cases and would be at fifth place on its own when it comes to COVID cases.
